Following the Breaking Waves open call earlier this year, the D/SINI Festival has commissioned two exhibitions which engage with the theme of art and mental health. Both The Deepest Blue and Head spinning, loop creating present distinct entry points for greater public discussion about a subject matter that, despite affecting a significant fraction of the population, continues to remains taboo in Asian sensibilities. Part of D/SINI’s third wave of programmes, it is also the first to dedicate itself to empowering emerging, Singapore-based curatorial voices.

There’s a whole lot of stunning art to appreciate at the opening of DISINI, Gillman Barrack’s first visual arts festival.

Head on over to DISINI (derived from ‘di sini’, which means ‘over here’ in Malay), the first large-scale and ground-up visual arts festival in this region! Organised by art gallery Chan + Hori in partnership with the National Arts Council, there are plenty of public programmes, outdoor artworks, and exhibitions from home-grown and international artists lined up these next few months. This cutting-edge festival will be opening with a bang this Friday 26 Jan, in conjunction with Art After Dark x Singapore Art Week 2018.
