Solo Exhibition By Aung Kyaw Htet

15 February - 31 March 2012

Being a devout Buddhist who grew up in a small village has undoubtedly played a large influence in Aung Kyaw Htet's artistic practice, as seen through his exquisite balance of realism and sensitivity of subject, using varying shades of grey and a considered use of colour in Illuminations.

The young enigmatic monks and nuns are portrayed with a delicate dignity that speaks directly to the artist's dedication to the Buddhist faith - an important foundation to his Burmese culture, in the face of disparaging conditions and poverty that prevails in Burma.
