Solo Exhibition By Ruben Pang

31 January - 18 February 2011

Pang describes his paintings as projections of his psyche which reflect on notions of prospect, arrival, and transformation. With no preconceived directives on how the painting should look at its inception, Pang’s process of creation evolves and gradually builds up with each brushstroke and layering of paint. Through his use of a multi-colour palette and technique, the artist aims to create a feeling of dynamism within the medium while exploring the boundaries of colour, form and transparency.

After graduating from the Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore in 2010 (Diploma in Fine Art), Ruben was awarded the Winston Oh Travelogue Award and then selected as a Singapore Finalist in the Sovereign Asian Art Prize. He has participated in numerous art exhibitions and events from the Singapore Art Museum to Narcotic Counseling Centres, drawing on a multidisciplinary approach that incorporates music, performance, and design.
